  • Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures and processes.
  • Perform legal and industry standards research.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Provide support and assistance with Company business development efforts.
  • Identify relationships, constraints, optimal sequence of work and milestones within project work schedule.
  • Review contract, specifications and drawings to confirm design and construction schedule baselines and updates for comprehensiveness, quality, constructability and risk.
  • Ensure all project control procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Develop and implement cost administration and reporting systems including estimates, budgets, schedules, manhour, cost, and earned value reports.
  • Participate in business strategy review meetings.
  • Develop Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
  • Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders.
  • Perform value engineering (long term savings, best value, for client).
  • QA/QC review of schedule submissions for conformance.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis and evaluations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of cost administration and reporting systems including estimates, budgets, schedules, manhour, cost, and earned value reports.
  • Develop and prepare construction and project training programs.
  • Evaluate project planning, costs, and schedules.
  • Prepare report on findings / recommendations on an as needed basis.
  • Review onsite progress for physical % complete, labor and equipment productivity.
  • Ensure work products conform to highest quality standards
  • Assist with change order analysis.
  • Assist with risk analysis and document recommendations.
  • Manage, review, and analyze project documents.
  • Review critical path, cost loading, schedule content and forecasted work.
  • Prepare reports as needed and directed by Management.

  • Have knowledge of and be comfortable with generating and evaluating construction cost estimates.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree considered with six (6) to 10 years of related experience.
  • Be willing to attend continuing education seminars and conferences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be interested in working in a fast paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail and exceptional analytic abilities.
  • Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
  • Be a self-starter able to work extended periods with limited supervision.
  • QA/QC (consistency, formatting, fact checking) for reports and related documentation.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering, heavy scheduling, cost estimating and/or litigation experience in the construction industry or related experience.
  • Be open to travel on an as needed basis.
  • Be proficient or desire to become proficient with standard industry tools such as Primavera (P6 and OPC), Timberline, RS Means, and MS Project.
