Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer | Commercial, retail, multifamily, and healthcare projects

Description

• Prepare construction documents including ductwork layout, plumbing risers, associated drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD.
• Participate in the selection and specification of all appropriate equipment.
• Design and specify Mechanical equipment and systems for building maintenance and construction. This includes HVAC systems, associated ductwork, sprinklers, plumbing, boilers, furnaces.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients.
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
• Perform necessary system design and load calculations throughout.

Requirements

Immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in mechanical building design and knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical equipment specification fundamentals. This position is located in the Philadelphia office and will support projects in PA and NJ. Role is based in-office 5 days/week .

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• AutoCAD & Revit usage experience desired.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
• 4-7 years of professional experience designing HVAC, VAV, Plumbing, fire protection, fire suppression, and other mechanical systems for commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional projects.
• Proven experience with A/E or MEP firms.
• Strong fundamental understanding of Building Codes.
• Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
