Key responsibilities include repairing and maintaining mobile and stationary plant equipment, planning and executing construction and maintenance projects, and welding various materials according to AWS standards. The mechanic reads and interprets maintenance manuals, replaces defective parts, adjusts clearances, fabricates lifting or towing attachments, documents all work, and ensures compliance with all relevant laws, company policies, and codes.
The Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) maintains and constructs industrial machinery for pumps, utilities, power stations, and heavy equipment, handling air, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The role requires knowledge of pneumatics, troubleshooting equipment failures, and performing repairs to ensure optimal operation.
Qualifications demand experience with metals and other materials such as wood, as well as carpentry, welding, plumbing, and fabrication techniques. Candidates must be able to read blueprints, analyze information, apply critical thinking, monitor machine performance, and prioritize multiple tasks. An Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A Certification is required.
