Strategy Development: Accountable to support the evolving strategy for OPPD's Generation Strategy and Origination division.
Identify and lead resolution of issues throughout the contract life cycle, such as force majeure claims, performance guarantees, project financing, disputes, and changes of ownership.
Cross-Functional Coordination to Ensure Compliance:
Ensure compliance with contract milestones, and other deliverables.
Develop new contracts and amendments, including internal approval and execution.
Research and stay up to date on industry trends and innovative approaches in support of OPPD's contracts.
Analyze proposed contract amendments.
Coordinate across Energy Marketing and Trading, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Resource Planning, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Coordinate with and engage outside legal counsel as appropriate.
Lead the development of creative solutions for contracting structures, mergers and acquisitions, term sheets, memorandums of understanding, exclusivity agreements, capacity and energy contracts, and related energy resource contracts.
Act as the point of contact for contracts - will receive, prioritize, coordinate, and ensure OPPD and counter parties meet contract obligations and lead dispute resolution.
Lead contract teams and negotiations.
Energy Resource Contract Management: Accountable for the management of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Power Sales Agreements, and other contracts in support of OPPD's energy resource portfolio.
Build and maintain relationships with contract counterparties.
