Interior Designer

Description

In the role you will develop cohesive and rational design solutions that meet project briefs while being technically, legally and financially responsible. You will contribute to a collaborative team effort, conduct design analysis and research, and support the preparation of graphic materials for client presentations.

• Collaborate with Design Directors and leadership on hospitality, commercial, mixed‑use, entertainment and retail projects.
• Conduct design analysis, research and develop cohesive design solutions aligned with project briefs.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with the Design Manager as needed.
• Solve complex design problems through schematic design and design development phases.
• Prepare graphic materials and presentations for client review.
• Research and recommend appropriate systems, materials, and finishes.
• Present design schemes and documentation to the Design Manager.
• Support the creation of design development packages for production.
• Work with technical coordinators to ensure accurate interpretation of design intent in documents.
• Liaise with clients on design issues under the guidance of the Design Manager.
• Execute interior design assignments across conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation stages.
• Develop space‑planning concepts and generate program documents.
• Select FF&E, create color palettes, and produce material specifications.
• Support and track project sustainability targets throughout all phases.
• Coordinate sustainability goals with consultants and engineers.
• Implement sustainable design strategies and investigate solutions to sustainability challenges.
• Contribute to office initiatives, learning programs and collaborative activities.
• Apply 2‑5 years of interior design experience to commercial, retail or hospitality projects.
• Utilize Revit, 3D design programs and Adobe InDesign to produce design deliverables.

Requirements

Gensler UAE is looking for an interior designer who is passionate about design and will work alongside Design Directors and design leadership on a diverse range of hospitality, commercial, mixed‑use, entertainment and retail projects.

The position requires 2‑5 years of professional experience designing commercial, retail or hospitality interiors, a bachelor’s degree in design, and strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Revit, 3D design tools, Adobe InDesign, knowledge of furniture, finishes, specifications, and sustainable design principles—including LEED, WELL or Fitwel—is essential.

Technical expertise includes solid working knowledge of Autodesk Revit for authoring and documentation, real‑time rendering and material management within integrated BIM and parametric workflows, and basic model setup. Desirable skills are Rhino authoring, interoperability between AutoCAD, Revit and Rhino, and familiarity with VR walkthroughs and a suite of design and simulation software.

• Apply knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED/WELL/Fitwel rating systems.
