The role involves planning, supervising, performing, and coordinating all phases of installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of systems in new or remodeled facilities. Additionally, the position is responsible for organizing the daily activities of a crew of workers to ensure project schedules are met.
Key responsibilities include interpreting specifications and blueprints, laying out work plans, and pre‑planning daily tasks to maintain crew productivity. The supervisor monitors quality control, orders and coordinates materials, completes required reports, and ensures equipment is properly maintained and operated by qualified personnel. They support the jobsite superintendent, may perform trade work, travel to sites on short notice, and continuously seek methods to improve safety, quality, and productivity while enforcing company policies and training crew members.
Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in a pipe supervisory role, with a high school diploma or GED preferred. Required skills include proficiency in a craft area, ability to read blueprints, compute basic measurements, and effectively motivate and communicate with a team of six or more workers. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to safety and zero‑injury principles are also essential.
The position frequently involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, extreme heat, fumes, vibration, and loud noise, requiring adherence to safety protocols in challenging environments.
