
Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and responding to RFIs
The individual will collaborate closely with project engineers and other design staff to coordinate multi-disciplinary work, contribute to project schedules, and deliver designs on time and within budget. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on a wide range of project types including commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, institutional, and multi-family residential facilities.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and sustainability guidelines (LEED, Energy Star)
Select HVAC equipment and components based on project requirements, cost, and energy goals
Design and model HVAC systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software
Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and system sizing to ensure performance and efficiency
Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for producing high-quality CADD/Revit drawings and supporting the full design process from conceptual layouts through final construction documents. This role involves producing load calculations, equipment selections, and detailed construction documents, while coordinating with project engineers, architects, and other disciplines to ensure integrated, code-compliant, and energy-efficient system designs.
Conduct HVAC system surveys and site inspections to verify conditions and ensure installations meet design intent
Develop construction documents at schematic design, design development, and construction phases
We are currently seeking motivated individuals for full-time positions in our Hanover, MA office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit strongly preferred. Experience with BIM is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3–5 years of HVAC/mechanical design experience, preferably on commercial or institutional projects
Solid understanding of HVAC design principles, energy modeling, and building code
