The Finance Director is a key member of the regional management team, reporting to the Regional Managing Director and dotted‑line to the Divisional Finance Director. In this business‑wide role, the Finance Director provides operational insight, challenges decisions, and drives value optimisation for shareholders while promoting strong governance.
The role leads finance capability for the region, overseeing business planning, financial controls, risk management and the development of a high‑performing finance team. It works closely with the MD and other senior leaders to shape strategy, evaluate new business and ensure robust financial processes.
- Review and challenge new business proposals, providing financial oversight and recommendations to the MD.
- Lead business planning, validate operational assumptions and deliver insightful financial information for forecasts.
- Optimise value from the landbank while maintaining the group’s customer‑centric ethos.
- Co‑develop the business unit strategy with the MD and support it with robust financial analysis.
- Ensure asset protection, regulatory compliance and strong corporate governance for the region.
- Oversee finance team outputs, maintain robust processes and controls, and mitigate business risks.
- Build and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering technical and soft‑skill growth.
- Partner with the MD on land acquisitions and new deals, sign‑off financial models and assess financing, tax and accounting implications.
- Conduct site‑level cost reviews, challenge cost projections and support P&L meetings to identify trends.
- Align site delivery sequencing with risk factors to optimise ROCE alongside Production and Sales Directors.

Candidates must hold an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification and possess extensive post‑qualified experience in finance, performance analysis, month‑end close, audit liaison, forecasting and planning. Experience in M&A, risk management, systems implementation and leading finance teams is essential.
