The coordinator will support estimating, subcontractor bid reviews, scheduling, logistics, and constructability reviews for MEP systems, and assist both pre‑construction and project teams in evaluating trade partner estimates and design‑change costs. They will also manage the owner‑architect interface for multiple systems, review shop drawings and submittals, and develop comprehensive commissioning plans that define testing, inspections, factory start‑up, FAT, documentation, and integrated test procedures.
Overseeing MEP coordination through virtual design and construction processes, the coordinator will provide onsite construction support, supervise system start‑up, balancing, commissioning, validation, owner training, and project closeout. They will also develop and enforce project‑specific MEP quality and safety programs, including safety cause mapping for post‑MEP events.
DPR Construction is seeking an experienced MEP coordinator with at least five years of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction experience. The role involves day‑to‑day coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low‑voltage, and fire sprinkler scopes across projects, working closely with project teams, executives, and regional leadership.
The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented team player able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and resolve complex issues with stakeholders. Required competencies include a strong grasp of MEP engineering concepts and codes, knowledge of fire/life‑safety and sprinkler integration, test and balance processes, building automation, and safety regulations, as well as experience running multi‑discipline meetings and producing actionable minutes.
Technical proficiency expected includes current virtual design software, CPM scheduling, lean pull planning, with Primavera P6 preferred, and strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution, and teamwork abilities, combined with a “can‑do” attitude, are essential.
Candidates should have at least five years of MEP coordination experience (preferably within DPR’s core markets) and a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
