Delivery consultants & construction experts transforming visions into built reality.
Mace’s values guide the role: Safety First means advocating for exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards while championing an inclusive working environment. Client focus involves designing and implementing effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks, supporting best‑in‑class service delivery and building strong stakeholder networks. Working within an integrated delivery team, the manager will embed change and trend processes, conduct paper quality checks and provide technical support for change control.
Key responsibilities include ensuring consistency of change control across the project, maintaining baseline integrity, managing change logs and reporting authorised changes. The manager will support the project manager and planning, cost, scope and reporting leads, liaise with construction, commercial and finance departments, and develop project budgets and cost estimates. They will also produce trend and change reports, work closely with the risk team for analysis, and uphold project‑control administration for cost, schedule, risk and reporting.
Integrity and leadership are central to the role; the manager will guide project teams in PMO and Project Controls administration, influence long‑term strategy for the business unit, and mentor and coach team members to foster knowledge sharing. They will actively network, leverage Mace’s centres of excellence and support the HUB PMO and Project Controls director with resourcing and recruitment for the commission.
This secured role is set to commence in December, subject to approval, and interested candidates are invited to apply. Mace’s purpose is to redefine the boundaries of ambition by creating responsible places that deliver transformative impact to people, communities and societies worldwide. Within the consult business, Mace leverages a unique blend of practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in every project.
The Trend and Change Manager will operate within a project delivery team, supporting the Programme Management Office and reporting to the Risk Lead or a Project Controls Manager. The role requires UK nationality and the successful candidate must obtain security clearance due to strict security requirements.
The ideal candidate is digitally savvy, able to build lasting client relationships, and experienced in change‑management methodologies and project‑control processes on major construction projects. They should demonstrate inclusivity, outcome‑driven excellence, a commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, and a passion for sustainability and challenging the status quo.
A technical degree or equivalent, preferably with an APMG Change Management certification, is required along with proven project management or controls experience in construction or consultancy, particularly in nuclear or high‑security sectors. Membership of professional bodies such as RICS, CIOB, APM or ICE, strong commercial and financial acumen, leadership of large diverse teams, and knowledge of carbon‑sustainability considerations are essential.
The role is based between Newbury and London, requiring 2‑3 days per week on site and SC clearance. Mace promotes inclusive hiring, offers flexible and hybrid working options, and encourages employee referrals.
