Project Accountant - Fixed Term Contract

Description

We are looking to source a Project Accountant on a 12-month fixed term basis. Based at their facility in Cornwall, the Project Accountant oversees day to day accounting requirements for our Courseulles Project. The role holder will manage the client funding process, Finance POC for the client and ensure effective financial controls are adhered to within the project.

• Ensure all approvals are completed on a timely basis and in line with project cash requirements.
• Liaising with Procurement/ Contracts to ensure payment terms and milestones are understood and properly reflected in cashflow.
• Preparation of weekly cash forecast.
• Provide support as required to meet external audit requirements.
• Finance point of contact for in country tax requirements.
• Manage the invoicing process to ensure contract requirements are met, review of customer invoices prior to issuance.
• Management of the client funding process, Finance POC for client.
• Ensure effective financial controls are adhered to within the project
• Ensure the client funding process is compliant with contract terms, meeting pre-agreed timelines and documentation.
• Oversight of day to day accounting requirements for the Courseulles Project.
• Responsible for accurate and timely month end close for the assigned duties.
• Maintain rolling financial forecast for the project.

Requirements

• Exceptional attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA.
• Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
• Be able to communicate effectively with peers and project stakeholders at all levels.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role - preferably from same/similar industry and within a project-driven environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Sound experience and knowledge of accounting software - ideally Navision (MS Dynamics NAV).
• Strong problem-solving skills and be proactive in developing and streamlining processes.
