Develop conceptual estimates during early design phases and update throughout design progression.
Analyze and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure smooth transition from estimating to execution.
Support the creation of competitive bids and proposals for clients.
Collaborate with business development and project teams to align bids with customer expectations.
Recommend improvements in estimating systems, tools, and processes.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Build and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Stay updated on industry trends, material pricing, and labor market conditions.
Track historical project costs to refine future estimates and improve accuracy.
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects. This includes analyzing specifications, drawings, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates and bids. The Estimator will collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Operations teams to support successful project execution from pursuit through handoff.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating practices.
Ability to manage multiple bids/projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Accubid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
3–5+ years of estimating experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
