- Interacts and collaborates with clients, officials, contractors, and other project team members.
- Performs on-site inspections as required.
- Select and schedule equipment for plumbing systems, pressurized gas systems, and fire protection systems.
- Coordinate designs with vendor-supplied equipment.
- Assists Project Managers in coordinating project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.
- Performs specific engineering studies and design analyses and assists Project Managers in establishing budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Reviews shop drawings, record changes, and communicates directly with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as required.
- Prepare equipment layouts and general arrangements.
- Prepare plumbing or fire protection drawings in collaboration with other designers or drafters and develop specifications.
- Ensures that company technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of projects for clients.
- Delegation of work tasks and collaboration with subordinate staff, monitoring and reviewing delegated work for accuracy.
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time.
- Correct and update drawings and assist the project team and other staff members as required.
- Performs engineering duties in planning and designing Plumbing and Fire Protection systems in various building design projects.
- Coordinate with other disciplines for plumbing and fire protection installations.
- Assists in preparing complete project documentation including plans, specifications, due diligence reports, etc.
- Layout pressurized water, waste, vent and gas riser diagrams on drawings.
- Assists in the various design elements to complete a project, system, component, or system with other team members with clear and specified objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment.

- ASPE Membership is preferred.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the project development process within the commercial and retail marketplace, including construction.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.
- Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of building life safety, plumbing and fire codes including NFPA codes and standards, and ICC codes and standards.
- Strong and versatile building plumbing and fire protection design and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Professional Certification is required.
