Description

The senior surveyor will develop strategies to minimise clients’ business rates liabilities and manage empty property rates, applying for relevant reliefs where appropriate. They will inspect and accurately measure properties for valuation, analyse evidence to assess appeal potential, and prepare high‑quality submissions for the Check, Challenge, Appeal process. Building strong client relationships, contributing to financial targets, and mentoring junior colleagues are also key components of the role.

Requirements

Candidates must be a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent) with proven rating experience and a track record of delivering rating advice and managing client portfolios. Proficiency with rating software such as Riverlake, Analyse, RatesData, and Calcurate is required, along with strong communication, negotiation, and report‑writing skills. A commercially minded, entrepreneurial approach and up‑to‑date knowledge of rating legislation and appeals processes are essential.
