We are seeking a Health & Safety Construction Manager to ensure excellence in every aspect of our complex infrastructure projects and specifically in utilities (Transmission & Distribution). In this role, you will lead health and safety programs, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help us deliver projects that meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and performance.
- Develop project specific emergency response plans and conduct regular drills
- Conduct safety performance measurement, including both lagging and leading indicators, and produce reports for stakeholders
- Conduct investigations into incidents and produce reports with recommendations and corrective/preventative actions
- Conduct job safety analysis of construction projects and support project managers with safety compliance
- Review contractor safety management plans as part of Prime Contractor responsibilities
- Developing safety forms, templates, guides, etc.
- Conduct site safety inspections and track corrective and preventative actions to closure
- Maintain all project safety records to ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations
- Conduct Qualified Coordinator role on projects, overseeing safety compliance and site coordination, including safety meetings and site inspections
- Deliver strategic and well-informed guidance to ensure successful project outcomes
- Develop and implement CIMA+’s program to manage prime contractor responsibilities for clients
- Performing risk assessments, project safety plans, Notice of Project submissions and WorkSafeBC liaison
- Conduct comprehensive workplace assessments to ensure that equipment, supplies, facilities and first aid attendants and equipment are adequate and appropriate for each project
- Develop project safety plans for construction projects and field visit safety plans to ensure all personnel safety during all stages of the project
- Participate in the continuous improvement of CIMA+ safety practices within projects, aiming for industry best practices and alignment with client expectations, including: Developing safety forms, templates, guides, etc. Developing and delivering internal safety training content Performing risk assessments, project safety plans, Notice of Project submissions and WorkSafeBC liaison

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying regulatory and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English in order to build relationships and manage multiple stakeholders and clients
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in health and safety construction management in utility sectors, preferably Transmission and Distribution projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) to support documentation, analysis, and communication
- Strong leadership skills in order to build trust, foster collaboration, and create an inclusive environment where individuals feel valued and empowered to perform at their best
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification
- Degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or any relevant field
- Availability and flexibility to an on-site presence about 40-50% of the time
