Senior Civil Engineer - Land Development

Description

• Engage with public agencies and stakeholders to facilitate permitting and project approvals
• Provide technical oversight on site development plans, stormwater reports, utility design, grading, and roadway improvements
• Directly supervise engineering staff and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
• Stay current with evolving regulations, emerging technology, and industry best practices
• Review and approve engineering designs to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and project objectives
• Oversee and implement quality control procedures for engineering deliverables
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposal efforts
• Collaborate with leadership on resource planning, process improvement, and project risk management
• Train, mentor, and develop junior engineers to strengthen team capacity and continuity
• Serve as the engineering lead for high-profile clients, maintaining strong and proactive partnerships
• Manage complex land development projects to ensure alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and quality goals

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in engineering quality control and technical design review
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, focused on land development
• Business development experience, including proposal preparation and client engagement
• Familiarity with agency requirements in the Pacific Northwest region
• Strong working knowledge of local and regional development standards and permitting processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 8 years of experience in land development engineering, including project and staff management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications and analytical/problem-solving skills are essential
• Proven leadership of project teams and client relationships
• Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D and industry-relevant design tools
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Washington.
• Experience with both private and public sector land development clients
• Planning, organizing, scheduling, and project management experience
• Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies
• Ability to lead, coach, and inspire junior engineers
• Proficiency with project management software (such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Ajera, or Deltek Vantagepoint)
