An ability to collaborate and work as part of a wider engineering team.
Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (“UK Eyes only”)
Ability to lead a team of engineers.
A basic understanding of electrical and power generation principles.
Ability to perform basic structural design and calculations, structural design specifications and mechanical Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Proven track record of designing mechanical systems in a professional engineering environment.
Some experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREO or similar.
A relevant degree In Electromechanical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
Prior experience on active magnetic bearings.
A solid understanding of rotor dynamics, such as: torsional and lateral vibration, shaft lines, bearings, mechanical coupling, shock absorption.
Experience in testing, verifying and validation of rotating equipment.
Excellent knowledge of thermal and fluid dynamics.
Some experience in project management or project planning
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
