Key responsibilities include designing and specifying HV and LV power systems for data centre and mission‑critical facilities, conducting technical due‑diligence and feasibility studies, and producing detailed electrical single‑line diagrams, calculations, schedules and specifications using AutoCAD. You will evaluate OEM equipment, attend factory and site acceptance testing, perform site inspections and support commissioning, and model power systems with ETAP and Trimble for short‑circuit, protection, arc‑flash and load‑flow analyses. Coordination with internal and external stakeholders, mentoring the electrical team, managing technical risks and contributing to business development are also central to the role.
During the first 12‑24 months you will help develop and promote Ramboll’s technical capability, maintain excellent client service, and expand the team’s electrical design skills while reducing risk and improving efficiency of low‑ and net‑zero carbon solutions. You will attract talent to grow a skilled Data Centre Facilities team and support the business plan in line with our mission and values.
We are seeking an Electrical Technical Director to join our nationally integrated Data Centre Facilities team. The senior role requires a client‑focused mindset and extensive design experience with electrical power systems for data centres.
The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a proven track record of leading project delivery, and extensive experience in data‑centre and mission‑critical design across the UK and Europe. A solid understanding of electrical distribution topologies, on‑site installation practice, digital design innovation and sustainable design is required, together with strong client‑facing and commercial skills.
