Bid Manager

Description

In this pivotal role, you’ll manage the entire bid lifecycle — from initial opportunity review and strategy through to tender submission and project handover to the delivery team. You’ll coordinate all aspects of the pre-construction process, bringing together estimating, design, planning, and commercial input to produce competitive and compelling bids.

• Coordinate design, commercial, and operational teams to produce winning tenders
• Oversee preparation of tender documentation, PQQs, and technical submissions
• Manage the bid programme, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved
• Support continuous improvement in the pre-construction process
• Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and post-tender negotiations
• Develop bid strategies in collaboration with Directors, Estimators, and Design Managers
• Lead and manage bids from first enquiry to site handover, ensuring quality and consistency throughout

Requirements

As part of their continued growth, they’re seeking an experienced and driven Pre-Construction Bid Manager to join their Newcastle office and lead the successful delivery of bids from start to finish.

You’ll be an experienced Bid Manager or Pre-Construction professional with the capability to manage complex bids from inception through to contract award and handover. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong attention to detail, and can lead multidisciplinary teams with confidence and clarity.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A solid understanding of construction methods, procurement routes, and tendering procedures
• Proven experience managing full bid processes within a main contracting environment
• A proactive, strategic mindset and a genuine passion for securing work through well-executed bids
• The ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality
