Under supervision, the Maintenance Technician I coordinates daily tasks for the assigned community and performs a variety of facility and technical duties, including on‑site maintenance, unit turn inspections, and repairs. The role supports resident needs and ensures properties remain functional and safe.
The Maintenance Technician ensures the community’s physical condition meets operating and safety standards and completes service requests promptly. Approvals are required for repairs exceeding $1,000, and the technician manages inventory, vendors, and preventative maintenance programs.
The position requires regular standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 lb (occasionally 50 lb), and the ability to pass an annual lift test. Work is performed in various weather conditions and may involve exposure to dust, chemicals, and noise.
Applicants need at least one year of maintenance or related experience, basic knowledge of cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, and HVAC, and proficiency with hand and power tools. A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for on‑call duties are also required.
