Participate in regular project meetings, risk assessments, and quality & safety reviews.
Assist in the planning, design, and engineering of electrical infrastructure projects, particularly high-voltage substations and transmission/distribution systems.
Provide technical support during construction: liaise with construction teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design or installation issues.
Develop and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and design documentation in coordination with senior engineers.
Support preparation of as-built documentation, punch-lists, and handover packages.
Support commissioning activities: develop Test Procedures (e.g., Commissioning Test Procedures, Functional Test Procedures), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and work packs. RSGx has experience in commissioning up to 500 MVA transformers, HV switchgear, SCADA/telemetry systems, protection schemes, earthing systems
Conduct HV engineering studies, such as earthing design, protection coordination, load flow, short-circuit analysis, insulation coordination.
Work on high-impact, high-voltage infrastructure projects that support the energy transition (e.g., substations, transmission lines, renewable integration).
Assist in site acceptance testing (SAT), site commissioning, and energisation activities, working safely and in accordance with project permit-to-work systems.
Support the tender process: prepare engineering scopes, cost estimates, design support, and technical proposal content for M&E tenders.
Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending design or process optimisations, standardisation, or efficiencies.

Understanding of test equipment (Omicron, relay test sets, transformer test gear).
Strong technical documentation skills (drawings, reports, work packs).
Experience with Australian electrical standards, regulations, and codes (or equivalent, depending on region).
Strong problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
Experience with design software/tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, or similar).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of HV protection systems, earthing design, SCADA/telemetry, and commissioning practices.
Potential for site-based roles or travel, giving exposure to real-world, high-voltage environments.
Familiarity with safety management systems, permit-to-work processes, and site commissioning practices.
Australian (or relevant local) working rights.
Exposure to the full project lifecycle: from tendering and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Proven experience (or at least some exposure) in preparing test procedures (ITPs, CTPs, FTPs), commissioning documentation, and executing commissioning or pre-commissioning activities.
Previous work in resource / mining, renewables, or infrastructure sectors.
Benefits
Professional growth: work with experienced HV engineers and project teams; gain hands-on commissioning experience.
Opportunity to work across a variety of industries: mining, renewables, infrastructure, water, defence, etc.
