Payroll Administrator

Description

• Payroll team member liaison for Mortenson Project teams.
• Prepare daily off-cycle checks which may include retroactive pay as needed
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Research and resolve payroll inquiries from team members via phone or email
• Set-up, salary and pay related updates, and termination of craft payroll team members
• Complete unemployment earnings requests
• Prepare and review weekly payroll including data entry of payroll information and associated reporting, as needed
• Additional payroll duties which include activities such as union reporting and reconciliation, completing garnishments, and updating child support
• Responsible for review and reconciliation of project timecards prior to weekly pay run

Requirements

• Ability to follow processes with a high degree of accuracy and be able to identify and implement ongoing process improvements
• Minimum two years payroll experience in a multi-state environment
• Experience working with unions desired
• Working knowledge of Oracle accounting packages and Microsoft Office suite a plus

• Associates degree required; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Experience with multi-local and foreign payrolls desired
• Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Oracle payroll or ADP knowledge a preference
• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• CPP certification a plus
• Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively and support training of Payroll associates
• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
