Senior Manager, Airport Development
Aecon Group Inc.

Lead airport project from bid to commissioning, managing finance, design, ops and stakeholders.

Supports the coordination of Airport Operations development work

Engages in negotiating with airline committees on rates, charges, and agreements as and when required
Participates in the airline revenue development & negotiations
Review estimates and designs, coordinate with the construction team on submittals
Ensure all documents are provided as required, reviewed to ensure fit with plan
Engages in Stakeholder Relations
Provide guidance and support on critical transition issues
Ensure schedule and budget are constantly updated and managed.
Ensures the proper mechanisms are in place to efficiently communicate and resolve conflicts as they arise
Support government/public relations as appropriate and required
Review and contribute to legal document edits as required
Supports the Tenant Commercial development
Manage interface between maintenance requirements and rates/charges / budgets / P3 agreement etc.
Collaborates with Operational Finance team on relevant activities as required
Review and provide quality control for client submittals
Review documents as required
Supports the Project Director in preparing materials for critical client meetings, applying sound technical judgement and critical thinking skills in helping to shape strategies.
Supports the management of the project budget and provide guidance to workstreams on budget adherence
Provide necessary information to construction when it impacts their work
Coordinates Legal / Commercial Matters
Receive information from the team on model sensitivity, various scenarios, schedule coordination, submissions, outputs of the model
Collaborates with the Project Finance team, led by the SVP, Aecon Concessions
Supports the necessary activities to engage with the project Client and their respective advisors.
Monitor progress against targets and deliverables (schedule)
Provides the team with required inputs for models, costs, negotiation aspects, rates and charges
Interacts with and presents to Lenders Technical Advisors as required
Provide escalation support
Negotiates with the construction team on relevant matters as appropriate
Evaluates model scenarios and sensitivities (OPEX & CAPEX)
Manages the Project Management Team
Interact with relevant authorities, including relating to aviation, regulatory, tourism, permitting offices, etc. as required and appropriate, in concert with the Project Director
Work with Aecon’s team, advisors, and partners on building the revenue plan
Facilitate meetings with clients, other workstreams
Engage in appropriate meetings, discussions, negotiations as required
Review and approve budget requests

Experience working with project financing agencies and airport authorities is an asset.
Ability to communicate to get desired results
Ability and willingness to travel extensively for international projects, including extended site stays as required.
Commercial acumen: must understand how projects are structured and overall airport project economics work
Experience effectively managing teams
Experience with Airport Transactions such as PPPs and/or M&A, including due diligence and evaluation across all streams is a must.
Completed one or more construction project or has been involved in several airport M&A transactions
Demonstrated knowledge of airport operations, planning, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ICAO, IATA, FAA, Other) and airport technical systems, terminal design, and airside/landside aspects is highly desirable.
8+ years of experience in airport development, PPP transactions, Airports M&A with a strong track record in managing complex transactions.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aviation Management, finance, business and/or related fields
Signifies a substantial and growing pipeline of construction and infrastructure projects.
