Description

The Container Shop Manager is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the container shop, including inventory control, repairs, deliveries, and distribution to ensure smooth workflow.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily shop activities, maintaining container condition and appearance, meeting customer demand, enforcing Waste Management’s Mission to Zero safety standards, collaborating with other managers for cost‑effective operations, assisting with budgeting, conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance, managing staff performance, and submitting timely reports.

The role involves direct supervision of 14 full‑time employees, such as welders and utility workers, providing coaching, discipline, training, performance evaluations, and contributing to decisions on termination, compensation, and promotions.

• Oversee daily container shop operations, staffing, and scheduling.
• Ensure containers are repaired and presented to reflect company image.
• Maintain container inventory to satisfy customer demand.
• Enforce Waste Management’s Mission to Zero standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other managers to achieve cost‑effective shop performance.
• Support budget preparation and financial planning as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance for shop cleanliness.
• Manage personnel actions: hiring, coaching, disciplining, training, and performance evaluations.
• Generate and submit required operational reports on time.
• Directly supervise 14 full‑time welders and utility workers.

Requirements

Qualifications require a bachelor's degree (or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience) and a total of ten years of relevant work experience; no specific certifications are mandated.

The role may require air travel; candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative.
