Identify potential regulatory issues tied to commercial opportunities and act as a subject matter expert, collaborating across teams to resolve challenges.
Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on business operations, ensuring timely compliance adjustments.
Ensure all required data is collected and maintained to comply with domestic regulations (FEMA GRAS, FDA) and international standards (Health Canada, JECFA, GCC, Mercosur) for flavors and finished products.
Interpret and apply requirements from government agencies and certifying bodies related to GMO, bioengineering, Kosher, allergens, Halal, Prop 65, and organic certifications.
Evaluate and interpret information provided by suppliers for new and existing raw materials; confirm accuracy of data entered into internal formulation systems.
Assist in creating compliant marketing claims for new product concepts.
Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal R&D teams and external customers.
Participate actively in FEMA meetings and contribute to subcommittee initiatives.
Review and validate Nutrition Facts Panels, Supplement Facts Panels, Product Data Sheets, production labels, and ingredient declarations for both flavors and finished goods.
Serve in a leadership role when necessary, including stepping in for the manager.
Develop, update, and enforce company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
