

Provides cost-effective engineering, environmental, nuclear safety and IT solutions to government and private clients.
Apply technical experience in your field of specialization or broad‑based experience across multiple technical areas, and leverage other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and complex features such as special material requirements, new processes, and demanding coordination or oversight into problem solving and program planning. Provide leadership in determining solutions to intricate issues and be recognized as an expert in functional technical areas. Develop solutions to complex technical problems within your areas of expertise.
Stay informed about technical needs within the company and emerging trends in your external area of expertise. Be aware of your work group's capabilities and customers' needs, identify technical programs that can be carried out with minimal guidance, and take initiative to accomplish them.
Lead task teams to develop solutions for more complex problems and prepare plans that include schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for major technical tasks identified by management. Develop schedules, monitor progress and budget expenditures, and review the quality of work performed, including research, development, testing, and quality‑assurance requirements.
Communicate results and objectives both verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers, and oversight groups. Prepare reports for external publication.
Education requirements include an advanced degree such as a Ph.D. with roughly ten years of experience, a M.S. with twelve years, or a B.S. with approximately fifteen years of relevant experience.
Candidates are expected to be internal experts in their area, contribute to advancing knowledge through internal and external publications and professional society presentations, and possess the ability to solve complex problems in their field.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance; an active clearance is not required initially, and the selected candidate will be advised when to apply based on specific work assignments.
Having an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years is preferred.
