Reliability Tech A 2nd Shift

Description

The role focuses on assisting with tufting machine mechanical work, supervising Tufting Fixers, ordering parts, maintaining machine records, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are upheld. The technician will also manage work orders through the EZ Entry/TPM/SHARP systems and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Coordinate daily with supervisors to prioritize tufting machines and department needs.
• Assign and supervise Tufting Fixers as directed by the Reliability Tech Lead.
• Perform routine machine tasks such as style changes, blade replacements, repairs, and adjustments.
• Maintain vendor relationships and order tufting machine parts and supplies.
• Keep machine and parts records to schedule preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot abnormal tufting machine issues and discuss major overhauls with the Department Manager.
• Enforce safety procedures and housekeeping standards among Tufting Fixers.
• Attend departmental and priority meetings and relevant training sessions.
• Record machine hour meter readings as assigned.
• Utilize EZ Entry/TPM/SHARP systems to set up, receive, and manage work orders.
• Maintain the work order database, schedule and assign orders, and follow up for timely completion.
• Inspect completed work for completeness and quality.
• Lead, supervise, and train lower‑level technician‑mechanics.
• Report safety, quality, or production concerns to management.
• Specify and requisition materials for approved work orders.
• Ensure wearable parts are maintained appropriately.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

Candidates must have extensive experience as a tufting fixer and be able to work an 8‑hour shift that may include weekends and holidays. Physical requirements include intermittent sitting or standing for at least eight hours, climbing steps, walking throughout the plant, and tolerating temperature and humidity changes.
