Description

The Welder will weld rebar of all sizes, fabricate rack brackets, supports, junction boxes, and perform miscellaneous repairs to equipment, trailers, job shacks, and other company‑owned items, equipment, and vehicles.

The welder must join components according to layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, and welding procedures, set machine controls in conformance with the welding procedure specification (WPS), and weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions as qualified. Additional duties include reading tape measures, tacking assemblies using approved WPS, adhering to all health and safety policies, working safely, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Requirements

Candidates must be qualified under AWS D1.1 for overhead (4G) and vertical (3G) SMAW, pass a welding test, have experience with stainless and carbon steel, and be familiar with overhead cranes. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lb, understand fractions, decimals, and degrees of a circle, and possess general knowledge of structural members such as beams, channels, angles, pipe, and tubing. Preferred qualifications include OSHA 10‑ or 30‑hour certification. Travel may account for 5‑10 % of time to job sites, and the role involves medium physical work, climbing stairs, operating machinery or power tools, and working in a noisy environment.
