The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout facilities. This role also involves installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment while mentoring junior technicians.
Daily responsibilities include promoting a safe work environment, completing preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment, and managing department inventory. The position requires physical activity such as lifting up to 49 lb, standing and walking during 12‑hour shifts, and may involve up to 20% travel.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible scheduling availability (including weekends, nights, and holidays), and at least two years of experience repairing material handling equipment and performing predictive and preventative maintenance. Preferred qualifications include an associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems, blueprint and schematic reading, CMMS usage, and robotic or electromechanical maintenance.
The role demands repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and lifting of parts averaging 20 lb, occasionally up to 49 lb, as well as work in confined spaces, exposure to dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, and heights. Employees must be able to maneuver bulky equipment and operate safely in these conditions.
