Description

Based in El Paso, Texas, the Materials Manager oversees Production Control and Supply Chain functions, including supplier management, lean material processes, and both short‑ and long‑term capacity planning. The role ensures that material flow supports production schedules while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and site performance metrics.

Key duties involve supervising functional support staff, monitoring inventory accuracy, and guaranteeing on‑time shipments of raw materials and finished goods. The manager also leads efforts to implement lean initiatives, maintain compliance with security standards, and uphold plant safety and environmental policies.

• Maintain reliable inventory systems to sustain target stock levels.
• Identify and procure materials required for the production plan.
• Ensure material supply through kits, Kanban, and buffer stocks.
• Oversee receipt of raw materials and shipment of finished goods.
• Manage daily shipping operations, complying with CT‑PAT and BASC security standards.
• Monitor raw‑material warehouse and production‑floor inventory accuracy.
• Control silo inventories and perform accurate backflushing adjustments.
• Implement Lean Materials Management and cycle‑count programs.
• Reduce and control trailer usage within the plant.
• Maintain and manage Kanban systems across all areas.
• Enforce plant safety policies and environmental management systems.
• Support supplier evaluations for key services and products.
• Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting, or a related field and bring five to seven years of materials management experience, including expertise in Kanban, PFEP, and lean manufacturing principles. Leadership, budgeting, and decision‑making abilities are essential, with preferred credentials such as an MBA, APICS certification, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

• Possess 5–7 years of experience in materials management, including Kanban and PFEP expertise.
• Demonstrate leadership, budgeting, production control, and inventory planning skills.
• Preferred: MBA, APICS certification, Green or Black Belt, bilingual English/Spanish.
