The Shift Operator – Plumber role supports critical infrastructure across two premium client accounts, ensuring 24/7/365 facility operations through expert plumbing services, emergency response, and preventive maintenance. The position works a 3/4‑week rotating schedule of 12‑hour night shifts.
Day‑to‑day duties include installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, boilers, and related equipment at multiple client sites. You will read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation, respond promptly to emergencies, conduct routine inspections of plumbing, backflow, and sprinkler systems, and document all work using computer systems.
Required qualifications are a valid New Jersey plumbing license (or equivalent), 3‑5 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience, and the ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts with reliable attendance. Strong technical skills in reading blueprints, experience with backflow prevention devices, sprinkler systems, boilers, and proficiency in basic computer applications for work order management are essential.
Preferred qualifications include additional certifications in backflow prevention, cross‑connection control, or sprinkler inspection, experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical regulated environments, familiarity with building automation and CMMS, and strong communication skills for interfacing with clients and vendors. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance is also valued.
The position is located on‑site in Pennington, NJ, with a salary of $38.00 per hour (approximately $79,040 annually). This role does not provide visa sponsorship and requires candidates to be authorized to work in the United States.
