The Sustainability Specialist supports the growth of Cushman & Wakefield’s national Sustainability and ESG Consulting Platform, gaining proficiency in LEED, BREEAM, ENERGY STAR, Fitwel, and overall building sustainability performance.
The role coordinates multiple certification projects—including LEED, IREM, Fitwel, BOMA 360, and Green Globes—by leading project teams, managing documentation, and ensuring budgets and schedules are met while measuring building performance.
Additional duties involve mastering ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, assisting with utility data audits, developing sustainability program initiatives, tracking business development opportunities, and maintaining marketing materials and a best‑practice library.
Administrative responsibilities include accounts receivable support, contract scope development, and creating educational seminars and tenant‑awareness programs, as well as staying current on ESG rating systems such as WELL and Fitwel.
- Support and manage LEED, IREM, Fitwel, BOMA 360, and Green Globes certification projects from start to completion.
- Lead and educate project teams, consultants, engineers, and vendors throughout certification processes.
- Oversee certification documentation, technical analysis, and submission to governing bodies.
- Track and prioritize certification tasks, ensuring projects stay on budget and schedule.
- Perform green building performance analysis and measure building metrics.
- Develop and maintain sustainability program initiatives and marketing materials.
- Track business development opportunities and maintain a sustainability best‑practice library.
- Create graphics for presentations, reports, and publications.
- Implement a performance tracking system for ongoing and completed projects.
- Research and maintain a database of environmental legislation and regulations for the national portfolio.
- Assist with accounts receivable, invoice processing, and consulting cost record‑keeping.
- Support contract scope development, bidding, and administration for project supplies and services.
- Design and deliver ESG education seminars for employees, tenants, and management.
- Develop tenant awareness programs and case studies to encourage ESG participation.
- Travel as needed and engage with local and national real estate sustainability organizations.
- Commit to obtain and maintain LEED AP Operations and Maintenance designation within 90 days.
- Commit to obtain and maintain Fitwel Ambassador designation within 90 days.

- Become proficient in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and assist with utility data auditing and updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainable building, environmental policy, real estate, engineering or related field.
- Minimum one year of project coordination, LEED, or Fitwel experience.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and technical presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; graphic design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus.
- Positive, flexible, solution‑oriented attitude with innovative problem‑solving skills.

Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of coordination/LEED/Fitwel experience, commitment to earn LEED AP O&M and Fitwel Ambassador designations within 90 days, strong communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and a positive, innovative attitude. Compensation ranges from $57,800 to $68,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
