Purchase transmission using the OASIS system to effectuate the purchase or sale of power.
Maintains a transaction spreadsheet and verifies the day’s trading activity.
Work effectively with personnel at System Operations, generation stations, and counterparty traders.
Engages in wholesale energy purchases and/or sales with other entities in accordance with established contracts and procedures to balance loads and resources in the most efficient manner.
Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
Comply and adhere with EPE, NERC, CFTC, WECC, and FERC rules and regulations relating to generation adequacy to serve load demand.
Perform hourly activities required to participate in CAISO Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) as a Participating Resource Scheduling Coordinator (PRSC), such as submitting bids and base schedules for participating resources.
Maintain a high level of proficiency in operational software to perform job tasks such as EIM scheduling, short-term optimization, transaction deal-capture, and hourly balance of loads and resources.
Prepares power transaction reports for management or regulatory agencies.
Monitor EPE’s performance in the EIM intra-hour and work with Generation Operations and EIM Entity Scheduling Coordinator (EESC) to adjust operation of resources as needed.
Conduct short-term load forecasting to ensure adequate resource availability and provide power schedule interchange information to System Operations for use in Balancing Authority Area administration.
Perform data analysis and develop solutions or alternatives in economic and technical analyses using a variety of tools to support marketing proposals and business recommendations.
Support functions during regulatory proceedings.
Assists with daily and month-end checkouts with the EPE’s energy accounting and transaction deal-capture systems.
