Tool Install Detail Engineer - Semiconductor

Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the engineer will coordinate among Process Engineering, Facilities, Construction, OEMs, procurement, and project management to facilitate tool installation, move‑in, and de‑install activities in change‑heavy fab environments.

• Create detailed ISO drawings and Bills of Material from customer P&ID drawings.
• Validate tool utility hookups such as PCW, CDA, bulk gas, exhaust, and electrical systems.
• Apply Global Construction Standards and site‑specific specifications to all detailing work.
• Manage redlines, as‑builts, and Engineering Change Orders to keep documentation current.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering, Facilities, Construction teams, and OEMs to resolve design and install issues.
• Support tool install readiness reviews, safety walk‑downs, and commissioning preparation.
• Ensure compliance with SEMI S2, S8, S22, and applicable EHS standards.
• Maintain job‑site documentation including RFIs, ASIs, submittals, and as‑built records.
• Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth on‑site execution.
• Draft and manage purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Track project meetings, open items, schedule development, weekly look‑ahead, and task progress.
• Monitor craft productivity, labor performance, and assist with estimate and budget preparation for change orders.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, ISO drawings, and installation specifications.

Requirements

The position requires frequent on‑site work, including sitting, standing, climbing, and occasional lifting of up to 20 lb, often in variable weather and high‑noise conditions.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Possess 3–7 years of semiconductor fab detailing or tool install experience.
• Demonstrate strong AutoCAD skills; Revit and Bluebeam are a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling or document control tools preferred.
• Exhibit excellent communication, coordination, and organizational abilities; adaptable under pressure.
