Key duties include preparing reports, databases, and presentations, solving technical problems, and implementing innovative initiatives. Interns will focus on codes and standards, regulatory requirements, and systems and component design and analysis for new reactor licensing in Canada. Collaboration with internal teams and external organizations is essential.
Applicants must be enrolled full‑time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, science, project management, or business management and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Candidates must be 18 years or older, legally authorized to work in Canada, and willing to work in Markham, ON for a 12‑month co‑op starting Summer 2026.
Desired traits include demonstrated initiative, leadership skills, and a strong interest in advancing nuclear power generation. Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and project‑management experience are required. Familiarity with CNSC or CSA regulatory compliance, Microsoft Office, SharePoint/SmartSheet, and problem‑solving abilities are valued. Experience with tools such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or prior nuclear industry co‑ops is considered an asset.
Indigenous candidates (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) receive strong consideration. The position requires compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws and successful completion of a background investigation. No relocation assistance is provided, and a drug screen is not required for Canada‑based hires.
Interns receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from experienced engineers and technical managers. They will work on assignments that involve licensing, designing, developing, improving, and analyzing nuclear technologies in real‑world settings. Exposure to technical and regulatory concepts is a core part of the experience.
