The role involves assisting in the development of airport master plans, statewide system plans, and providing on‑call aviation planning services while collaborating with multiple project managers on general planning tasks. Kimley-Horn's Fort Lauderdale office is seeking an engineer or landside planner with at least five years of experience to join its Aviation team, and the position is not remote. The team has experienced sustained growth and is looking for a creative, driven individual to manage airport landside planning and implementation projects, interface directly with clients, mentor junior staff, and help expand the Aviation practice.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years' experience as an aviation planner and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field; PE or AICP certification is preferred. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are required, along with proficiency in graphic software such as Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, and Illustrator, as well as GIS/ArcView. The ideal applicant demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
