Leads and manages complex grant applications and teams of grant writers and support staff, including for federal funding applications.
Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices.
Assists with staff training.
Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process for assigned tasks.

Experience with the following funding programs is preferred: FHWA, FEMA, HUD CDBG, EPABrownfields, USDA, and EPA Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds.

Can work entirely independent when needed with minimal direction or correction from supervisor or grant manager.
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of grants-related concepts, theories, principles and practices.
Ability to take ownership of, and responsibility for, work product and manage own time and workload.
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Grant writing experience with local governments and in the civil engineering field is preferred.
Capable of managing a Grant Writer and delegate work to Grant Writer(s).
Advanced writing and research skills.
Must be willing to travel regularly.
Able to be the team’s subject matter expert on complex, specific programs.
Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat).
Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
