Be more, Apply Now! Macmahon is seeking a Specialist Roving Trainer & Assessor who will report to the Surface Mining Training Superintendent. The role works closely with operational leaders and site trainers to deliver targeted training solutions that enhance safety, compliance and performance. It involves designing, developing and deploying programs such as the Certificate III in Surface Extraction, adhering to the VET Quality Framework, Macmahon governance standards and mining legislation. The position is primarily site‑based, requiring frequent travel to FIFO and DIDO sites across Western Australia, with occasional time at the Perth head office.
The successful candidate must hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and possess strong leadership skills to coach and build capability in trainers and assessors. Prior experience as a trainer within a training team delivering competency‑based programs, together with extensive operational experience operating surface mining machines such as dump trucks, loaders, graders, dozers and excavators, is required. Excellent safety knowledge, a commitment to compliance, and high‑level computer literacy—particularly in SuccessFactors LMS and the Microsoft Office Suite—are also essential.
