  • Familiar with, and understand the use of underground utility construction tools; use of jackhammers/chipping guns, compactors, shovels, and other hand tools
  • Active Class A CDL desired but not required
  • If qualified, drive to and from job sites throughout the area as well as perform general construction labor at the job site
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
  • Over 21 years of age and possess, and continue to possess a valid driver's license and pass random driver's license screenings
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise
  • Previous underground utility or communications construction experience a plus
  • Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 40 lbs continuously
  • Knowledge of materials handling equipment and procedures.
  • Within 90 days of start date, take and pass OSHA-10 Certification; company supplied training
  • Travel required throughout the New England region with the Underground Crew, learning on the job
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
  • Hydraulics IC/2B Hoisting license a plus
  • Must be able to take and pass, and continue to pass a DOT Physical
  • Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks

  • Due to the nature of the job, travel is a requirement; hotels are paid for and employee will be supplied with a per diem
