Key responsibilities include managing contracts, overseeing litigation and dispute resolution, and offering strategic business advisory services. The role requires proactive collaboration with various functions such as Operations, Sales, Marketing, and HR, ensuring compliance and protecting the organization's interests in both organic and inorganic growth initiatives.
- Preparing a manual of consolidated laws and regulations applicable to the company's business in India. Updating the manual with changes in laws and regulations, ensuring compliance, and proactively building awareness among internal stakeholders about applicable laws and compliance requirements.
- Close co-ordination with external Advocates & Law firms who are handling company’s litigations.
- Support to the IPR Team for the trademark registration related matters and additionally Infringement/Passing off matters.
- Detailed monthly monitoring of Debtors in close coordination with the cross-function team with regards to –
- Developing a Litigation and dispute Resolution strategy, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for cost effective timely filing of resolution of disputes and litigations, including out of court settlements in coordination with commercial department.
- Attending and replying to legal or government notices related to factory laws, employment laws, and other notices, and monitoring the matters thereafter.
- Ensure effective participation in divisional DRMs to obtain feedback on IPR and recovery matters.
- Drafting and vetting agreements related to factory and warehouse operations, as well as different divisions and functions.
- Handling agreements and due diligence related to property acquisitions, such as leave and license agreements, lease agreements for factories and warehouses, and supporting the commercial team in due diligence and the purchase of lands and properties.
- Filing Interim Applications against IRP/RPs wherever applicable.
- Handling Consumer Litigation, Notices and Complaints before litigations, attending hearings and ensure no negative orders.
- Maintain regular and continuous communication with internal business stakeholders.
- IT enablement - Developing and monitoring Database, SOP, MIS for Domestic and International litigations.
- Support the Legal Head in legal research and provide advice on day-to-day business queries in emerging legal areas, as per business needs.
- To file Civil / Summary / Commercial suit/NCLT.
- To decide on legal action to be initiated with the sole objective of recovering outstanding dues as per SOP vide –
- Sending Demand Notice
- Managing Cases in areas of NI Act, Civil Money Recovery, Shares, Property, Labour, Criminal, Consumer etc., before Courts, Tribunals, Quasi-judicial bodies. To ensure that litigations are filed and attended in a time bound manner.
- Preparing guidance notes on areas of law applicable to the company's business, especially in manufacturing and warehouse operations, employment laws, and distribution laws and regulations. Ensuring 100% compliance by identifying gaps and opportunities and taking remedial actions in a timely and collaborative manner.
- Filing cheque bouncing matters
- Attending hearings
- Develop and implement processes for legal clearance of various activities.
- Enforcement of IPR through Criminal & Civil Actions such as John Doe Orders/Civil Suits. Attending raids through court appointed commissioners.
- Interface and review regularly to manage external advocates, law firms, and senior counsel.

Experience: 6+ years in in-house legal team exposure in large scale Manufacturing, FMCG, chemical industries.
Educational Qualifications: LL.B., LL.M. (optional) from reputed law school in India.
The incumbent is required to travel to different units of the company across India, attend court hearings all over India, support in IPR enforcement actions across India.
Statutory and regulatory laws related to compliance for factory, depot, and distribution locations of the company, e-commerce regulations, legal metrology, consumer laws, contract laws, labour and employment laws, negotiable instruments cases, civil recoveries, advertising and marketing laws, property laws, arbitration, NCLT proceedings, IPR laws (especially trademark, copyright, and enforcement actions on counterfeit/copycats), Criminal laws, Civil Law, environmental laws, and working knowledge of tax laws.
