- Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.
- Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned projects.
- Manage handover to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required.
- Contribute to project documentation including design, safety case and commissioning strategies.
- Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.
- Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards.
- Provide suitable engineering solutions for complex projects.
- Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
- Develop concept designs and fit for purpose engineering solutions for projects.

- Experience of fulfilling the CDM Designer role (Essential).
- Successful candidates will be required to hold Authorisations commensurate with the role.
- Travel to other locations will be necessary depending on project demands.
- Candidates aspiring to this broad role with a suitable PDP will also be considered.
- Appropriate HNC, (NQF Level 5); preferably degree level (NQF Level 6) or working towards (Essential).
- The candidate must be a proactive individual with a proven record of delivering in a project team.
- Knowledge/Experience in Contract Management (Desirable).
- Significant experience in practising disciplined Engineering role on industrial plant (Essential).
- Knowledge/Experience in commissioning of industrial plant (Desirable).

- The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.
