As a Master Heavy Equipment Mechanic you will work at one of WM’s recycling facilities serving over 20 million customers, maintaining critical equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front‑end loaders that keep the operation running efficiently.
Your daily responsibilities include repairing a wide range of machinery, diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance according to site checklists, and completing required paperwork and admin tasks.
Candidates must have at least ten years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be over 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, and capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.
Successful team members thrive independently, take accountability for quality, communicate effectively with colleagues, and approach problems with curiosity and determination.
The work environment involves frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing, and exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions, both inside garages and outdoors.
WM is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to providing accommodations during the hiring process, and the role may require a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for travel.
Our technicians are trained to deliver superior maintenance on diesel equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, growth, and rewarding benefits.
