The Design Studio Consultant role serves as the first point of contact for homebuyers after purchase, guiding them through the studio selection process and helping them design a home they love. The position operates Tuesday‑Saturday, 9 AM‑6 PM, with Sundays and Mondays off.
In this role you will build rapport with buyers, conduct live video or in‑person appointments, share product knowledge, and provide exceptional customer service. You will schedule and follow up on appointments, accurately enter options into KB Home’s software, audit paperwork, prepare samples, and respond promptly to calls and emails. Maintaining product knowledge, attending training, and keeping the studio environment well‑maintained are also essential duties.
Candidates need a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred) and may have a vocational certificate in interior design. One to four years of retail or hospitality experience, preferably with a homebuilder or design firm, strong computer skills, and excellent verbal and written communication are required. A customer‑centric mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively are also important.
The position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, move about the work location, walk stairs, lift up to 20 lb, and travel or drive as needed. Employees may occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and the role is based on‑site at the KB Home design studio.
Compensation includes a base pay of $43.25‑$48.10 per hour plus a performance‑based bonus, resulting in total annual earnings of $115,000‑$125,000. KB Home offers health insurance, a wellness program, life and disability coverage, a retirement savings plan, and paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
KB Home promotes a culture defined by customer obsession and collaboration, giving employees the satisfaction of helping families achieve homeownership. The company provides opportunities for growth and development within a nationally recognized organization where people truly matter.
