The Production Technician is responsible for wiring, assembling, fitting, and mounting sub‑assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. They perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection, using established power‑checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical and mechanical integrity. Assembly of panelboards and switchboards is done to customer specifications based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions, employing hand and power tools.
Finished products are inspected and tested to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes. The technician uses tools such as wire strippers, pliers, drill presses, and press brakes, and maintains progress of jobs while communicating any problem areas or part shortages. Additional duties include receiving and putting away material, preparing shipments, performing Lean initiatives, and maintaining equipment and work area according to 5S guidelines.
Candidates must have at least one year of assembly‑related experience with hand or power tools, or a one‑year technical school diploma, and a high school diploma or GED. Preferred experience includes CNC bus fabrication, press‑brake operation, interpreting wiring diagrams, and using measuring tools, torque specifications, and various shop equipment. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of the work location (active‑duty military exempt) and no relocation benefit is offered.
