We are seeking a Service Manager to lead the development and management of Virginia Transformer’s service offerings in the mission-critical data center sector. Based in Roanoke, VA , [this role will oversee the service technical team, ensuring high-quality execution of service programs, while also taking responsibility for developing Statements of Work (SoWs), proposals, and value-added service solutions. Field Services focus will be on installation, test, commissioning-assist, problem diagnosis and repairs, operations and maintenance support. The Service Manager will be responsible for enabling and delivering VT Service having high customer satisfaction.
The Service Manager will collaborate across Sales, Project Management, and Operations to expand our service portfolio, strengthen customer relationships, and drive long-term growth in data center services. Service performance is key to sustained major account business.

As Service Manager, you will shape service offerings, lead technical teams, and drive customer success—all while contributing to the growth of a company recognized as the leading provider of custom-engineered transformers.
- Troubleshoot escalated customer issues and provide hands-on leadership to resolve problems quickly.
- Ensure service offerings are differentiated, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives for growth of the service business line.
- Build and manage a high-performing technical service team, providing direction, training, and professional development.
- Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure contracts, proposals, and SoWs align with company standards and profitability goals.
- Oversee resource planning and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of service projects.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor service offerings to refine VT’s service strategy.
- Develop customer-specific Statements of Work (SoWs) service proposals in collaboration with Sales and Account Executives/Managers.
- Implement and manage service processes, KPIs, and reporting for continuous improvement.
- Present tailored service solutions to customers, emphasizing reliability, speed, and value.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Develop, manage, evolve/adapt, continuously improve VT’s field service offering providing full lifecycle service support for data center customers, including installation, testing, commissioning-assist, diagnosis, repairs, operations & maintenance support, upgrades.

- 8+ years of experience in service management, preferably in power, electrical equipment, or data center environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Proven experience building and managing technical service teams.
- Strong track record of developing SoWs, proposals, and service portfolios.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills.
- Knowledge of service contracts, compliance, and lifecycle management.
