Safety Specialists collaborate with field staff, clients, subcontractors, management, and external personnel throughout all phases of electric construction projects. They are responsible for enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulations while building professional relationships. The position is location‑based, covering multiple worksites within the assigned area and requires regular travel.
The role involves regular site visits to monitor safety behaviors, creating site‑specific safety plans, and participating in kick‑off and progress meetings. Specialists coach site personnel, conduct behavior‑based observations, PPE assessments, and lead accident investigations with root‑cause analysis. They also coordinate required trainings, support incident case management, and contribute to safety committees by analyzing performance trends.
Applicants should have at least two years of environmental, health, and safety experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably a safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, problem‑solving abilities, and proficiency with the MS Office suite are required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role demands independence, attention to detail, organizational capability, and the ability to travel for extended site visits.
