Prepare and manage project budgets, chart of accounts, and recommend revisions as the project progresses.
Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop cost control personnel.
Evaluate, document, and support standardized cost control processes and procedures for project teams.
Lead the setup and implementation of project cost systems, including cost codes, job cost procedures, and rules of credit.
Identify data sources, collect required data, and perform detailed cost analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
Develop and maintain detailed quantity trackers, manpower utilization plans, and discipline-specific assumptions.
Assist with contract administration and payment processes.
Provide ongoing input to improve project controls policies, tools, and guidelines.
Support project controls, procurement, commercial, and construction teams to ensure cost control systems are properly implemented and consistently applied.
Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of project cost and control systems.
Act as a key partner to Project Managers, Operations teams, and senior leadership.
Ensure contractual requirements related to invoicing, reporting, change management, and closeout are met.
Establish processes, reporting cadence, and requirements for cost recording, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
Participate in project risk management by identifying threats and opportunities, supporting mitigation strategies, and monitoring and reporting on risk exposure.
Communicate with external stakeholders, including clients, partners, vendors, and subcontractors, as required.
Support project change management activities, including subcontractor claims, change requests, dispute resolution, and integration of approved and forecast changes into project control systems.
Produce internal and external project reports, including dashboards and earned value metrics (CPI, SPI).
Create a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing team environment.
Support pricing structures, quantity take-offs, assumptions, and cost allowances for assigned scopes.

Solid knowledge of project management and cost control principles, including Earned Value Management.
5 - 10+ years of experience in cost control within construction or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interpret and analyze schedules and performance curves is an asset.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Rapid transit experience
Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience with Primavera P6 is an asset.
Proven ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
Strong understanding of financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and project financial reporting.
Experience with Hard Dollar/InEight and SAP ERP systems is an asset.
Professional accreditation (PMI, AACEI, CIQS) is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, site-based environment.
