The ITS/Transportation Technology Manager will lead the Intelligent Transportation System group in Denver, Colorado, supporting projects in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. This role acts as a state leader for the practice, driving business development, managing emerging technology projects, and coordinating a resilient team of professionals.
Key responsibilities include building client relationships, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, expanding industry presence, and overseeing the technical execution of large, complex ITS projects. The manager will also mentor staff, produce technical deliverables, and support strategic growth across the Greater West region.
- Lead and manage the ITS/Transportation Technology group in Denver, supporting Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.
- Build, mentor, and sustain a high‑performing team delivering ITS and emerging transportation technology services.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue new project opportunities with strategic execution plans.
- Expand local industry presence by actively participating in professional organizations and industry events.
- Oversee technical execution of large, complex projects, serving as capture manager, project manager, technical lead, advisor, or quality control.
- Produce technical deliverables including plans, specifications, estimates, reports, and memoranda.
- Drive business growth in the Greater West region as a subject‑matter expert in emerging transportation technologies.
- Support strategic business development, industry engagement, and targeted recruiting initiatives.
- Provide technical mentorship and development to peers through formal and informal channels.
- Coordinate assignments across markets to ensure work‑life balance and schedule commitments.
- Supervise engineering production activities, making authoritative decisions and resolving critical issues.

Candidates must have a BA/BS with at least ten years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership, and be a US citizen. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, 15+ years of experience, a Colorado Professional Engineer license, and a strong reputation in transportation technology within the mountain‑state region.
- Demonstrate mature judgment in solving routine and unusual operational problems and establishing engineering standards.
- Minimum: BA/BS with 10 + years relevant experience (including 2 years leadership) and US citizenship.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s in engineering, 15 + years experience, 5 + years leadership, and Colorado PE license.
- Proven experience managing transportation professionals and a strong reputation in mountain‑state transportation technology communities.
- Active involvement in professional and industry organizations and experience with public‑sector ITS projects.
- Knowledge of ITS design, connected/automated vehicle systems, systems engineering, and Transportation Systems Management & Operations.
- Experience in proposal development and business development activities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and research capabilities.
- Ability to balance project responsibilities, budgets, and deadlines while maintaining quality.
