LEED Commissioning Agent (CxA) Manager / Sustainability Consultant

• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Support the growth of our team and assist with preparing proposals for new and existing clients.
• Develop and manage client relationships (internally and externally).
• Responsible for reviewing Owner Project Requirements (OPR’s) and Basis of Design (BOD) documents to ensure they meet the intended requirements, and verifying that the program’s goals are properly included in the design documents.
• Responsible for the Commissioning process for HVAC, Electrical and Building Envelope systems with a particular focus on the commissioning requirements to support the LEED Certification of multiple LEED projects across the various LEED rating systems.
• Lead / support commissioning to meet the requirements of BREEAM certifications.
• Work with design, construction and commissioning teams to foster an understanding of current and proposed Sustainability related legislation.
• Prepare Functional Performance Test procedures, review TAB process and final TAB reports.
• Facilitate commissioning meetings.
• Prepare Commissioning Specifications and design and construction phase Commissioning Plans.
• Support Design Teams with technical aspects of NZEB, Low/Net Zero Carbon/Energy Building design & commissioning strategies
• Prepare Final Reports and Systems Manuals to provide a comprehensive project summary to the Owner.
• Review submittals, start-up sheets, RFIs and change orders for commissioned equipment and systems.
• Perform field visits to observe installation of commissioned systems and prepare field reports.
• Aftercare support on completed projects.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer status (or working to achieve) preferable
• Qualifications in the following desirable; LEED GA or AP BD&C / ID+C and/or BREEAM AP and/or WELL AP
• Clear and confident communication skills
• Have earned (or in process of earning) one of the following certifications: ASHRAE’s Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP); ACG’s Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA); or BCA’s Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
• 5+ years’ experience as a commissioning/energy systems consultant or related position
• Qualification (Level 8) in Architecture /Engineering/ Environmental/ Sustainability or related subject
• Commissioning process experience on at least 5 building projects, preferably in the industrial sector. The experience should extend from early design phase through into occupancy
• Ability to travel to work-sites as needed or required
• Project engineering / management skills, including decision making, problem solving, planning and organization, leadership and team building skills
• A background in facility operation and maintenance would be advantageous.
