The Role

Overview

Manage and lead EHS program for Ohio facility, ensuring compliance and safety culture.

Tasks

-Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. -Provide technical guidance on the facility-wide MOC program. -Lead site security management, provide support for fire prevention and insurance carrier risk management; Oversee site emergency response plans and teams. -Workers' compensation management of cases. -Champion efforts to foster a safety culture and employee engagement consistent with a “One PPG” EHS approach. -Evaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards. -Provide oversight, audit readiness, and mentorship for compliance audits and corrective action management. -Provide incident and injury investigation, incident reporting management (GS2). -Oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal); Oversight and completion of the industrial hygiene program. -Coach, mentor and develop EHS staff. -Drive injury prevention, spill elimination and sustainability in the areas of waste elimination, energy conservation and water consumption. -Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG policies. -Ensure compliance with site permits and plans (Indirect Discharge, SPCC, SWPPP, and Air).

What You Bring

-A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related Science field; Preferred CSP or CIH designation. -Must possess a “hands on” attitude. -Expert in change management and building a safety culture through influence and engagement. -Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, DHS, Workers' Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews and incident investigation techniques. -Minimal travel may be required. -7 or more years of experience in the EHS field; Preferred research or chemical setting.
